What Was Your Background Before Coming to Market My Market?
“I’ve been doing sales since as early as 8 years old selling candy. At my private school, I was selling Mexican Spanish fusion foods, and was so good at it that I was able to buy my first bike with the money I made. I’ve been working in law for about eight years. Before Market My Market, I worked for a pay-per-click company where I eventually became a partner and part-owner there.”
What Made You Want to Specialize in Legal Marketing and Sales?
“Legal marketing is an extremely unique, professional area of practice. Working with attorneys is something I enjoy because it requires me to work at a high level. I previously worked as a stockbroker and had to practice this precision and enjoy applying it to my work with attorneys.”
What Made You Want to Join the Market My Market Team?
“I met Ryan and Chase at a prior job where we handled the pay-per-click services, and they handled SEO services. By chance, I met Ryan again at a conference in Las Vegas, where I clicked with him and loved his ideas for Market My Market. Some time later, I talked to Ryan about an opportunity to join as a legal business representative.”
What Have You Learned Since Starting Work at MMM?
“I’ve learned that you cannot rely on one thing like pay-per-click. I have also learned SEO, which was hard, but I think I now have a firm grasp. I believe that in sales, if you’re not learning, you’re dying, so I’m always growing.”
What Do You Think is Going to be the Next Big Thing for Legal Marketing?
“The AI uptick, which I think is a blessing and a curse for attorneys, has led to the advancement of tools like ChatGPT and Claude. Integrating AI into law won’t create lazy people because the human aspect of marketing is still required. AI makes mistakes, so having training and a human touch is important. It is all about how you embrace it and how it can affect their daily life.”
What Are Your Goals for the Future of Your Career Here at MMM?
“I want to set high goals, take this opportunity, and move forward to have a team and be a director with people I can teach and provide knowledge to help them grow.”
What Advice Do You Have for Other Professionals Looking to Accomplish What You Have in Your Career Thus Far?
“Do something you’re passionate about, that drives you, makes you smile, and feel proud. If it’s something that feels like work, you’ll leave. If you’re happy, it isn’t work. Drive and passion can take you far, infinitely. Learn from people smarter than you, listen more than you talk, and have a clear idea of what you want.”
