Employee Spotlight: Caroline Swiezy — Turning Marketing into Meaningful Partnerships

IMG 2407 1 - Market My MarketCaroline Swiezy has always been drawn to the space where creativity and analysis meet. After studying marketing at UNC Wilmington, she turned an early digital marketing internship into an opportunity to build an agency’s SEO department from the ground up. Along the way, however, she discovered that her favorite part of the job was helping clients understand the strategy, feel confident in the process, and see the value and impact of their marketing firsthand.

Today, as a Client Experience Manager at Market My Market, Caroline combines sharp organization, marketing expertise, and a genuine love of relationship-building to help clients feel informed and supported. Whether she is celebrating a major performance win, earning the trust of a once-skeptical client, or keeping her famously tidy inbox under control, Caroline brings energy and intention to everything she does.

Tell Us About Your Background

I went to school at UNC Wilmington and really didn’t know what I wanted to study at first. I’ve always been creative but have also really enjoyed logistics and math, so I wanted to find something that combined those things. I ended up majoring in business and double concentrating in both marketing strategy and statistics, which I really enjoyed!

In my junior year, I took an internship running social media for a new business, and later got another internship where I worked for a local marketing agency in their digital department. The agency brought me on full-time after graduation, and I eventually had the opportunity to build out their entire SEO department, along with leading a few of their other digital products. Through that experience, I realized I loved talking with clients, building relationships, and explaining why our strategy matters. I ended up at MMM because I wanted to find a role that really centered around fostering those relationships.

Building strong relationships with clients and educating them is something I find really rewarding. I like being the person to walk clients through our processes and strategies, and show them the “why” behind what we do. If they can trust us and trust the face talking with them, that makes for a positive foundation in the relationship.

I also really enjoy seeing the growth, too, and sharing wins with our clients. I still think about some of the very first clients I worked with early in my career, and remember how they were so appreciative of the growth I was able to bring to their business. It’s something that will always stick with me.

How Would You Describe Your Work Style?

I’m extremely Type A! Being an account manager, there’s a lot happening at once and lots of different tasks to juggle, so organization is definitely necessary. I’m the kind of person who stresses out if I have unopened emails in my inbox, and I have a folder and spreadsheet for everything.

I think this comes across in my relationships with clients and how I communicate with them, so it works well. I like my clients to feel like they can rely on me, that I’m on top of things, and that they don’t have to wonder where something stands or whether it’s being taken care of. I think that level of organization helps me stay proactive, communicate clearly, and ultimately create a better experience for my clients.

As a Client Experience Manager, What Does a Successful Client Relationship Look Like for You?

I want our clients to feel like we understand them and that we’re reaching the goals they’ve set, whether that’s getting more patients through the door, generating more phone calls, or gaining more visibility. That’s obviously the most important thing to me. I want clients to feel like they’re getting what they’re paying for, and that their practice is genuinely benefiting from the work we’re doing together.

I also want clients to be able to trust us, our expertise, and know that the strategies we recommend are providing real value. A lot of our clients are new to marketing or have been burned in the past by other agencies, so I want them to feel like this experience is different. I hope to get to the point with all my clients where they feel like they can just sit back, focus on what they do best, and trust we’re doing the best for them too.

What’s Been the Most Rewarding and Challenging Aspects of Your Role So Far?

I think the most rewarding and challenging aspects of my work really go hand in hand. My most rewarding clients are often the ones who come to us skeptical or hesitant, where we have a lot to prove and need to earn their trust. Those relationships can take more time, communication, and patience, but that’s also what makes them so rewarding. When we’re able to turn that initial skepticism into confidence, build a strong relationship, and ultimately show them the value of the work through real results, it feels like a much bigger accomplishment.

You Have a Pet Cockatiel! Tell Us About Her

Her name is Eve! She’s really cute and cuddly but can also be very sassy. She’s 6 years old now, and cockatiels usually live to about 15-20, so she’s still young! She’ll fly around the apartment and has a little stand in the living room, so she’ll sit out with us while my husband and I are cooking dinner or watching TV. Sometimes she’ll even sit on my shoulder while I work. She’s my little buddy!

What’s Your Advice for Young Professionals Who Want to Achieve What You Have in Your Career?

When you’re new to a role, get involved as much as you can. Say “yes” to every opportunity. You can prove you’re capable, and it puts you in a good position to keep learning and growing, which is really important, especially in this industry that’s always changing and evolving.

Also, advocate for yourself and know your worth. If you’ve done something you’re proud of, say it! It helps you stand out and can help others feel confident enough to bring new ideas to the table too.
