Q&A with Cliff

What Do You Love Most About Your Job?

“I like working with folks from smaller businesses. Their dollars mean a lot more, and I like seeing how we can impact and grow their business. I also like making that personal connection and finding out what matters to them. I see there’s something meaningful to it. It’s not just something where I won’t see the results from it for a long time.”

What Do You Find the Most Challenging About Your Job?

“Not all of my clients are nearby, so I can’t go and just visit them. I’ve been lucky, and I have a few clients nearby me. But I have clients all over, and sometimes being able to stop by and just talk to somebody can resolve a lot of angst, anxiety, and conflict. Being remote is sometimes difficult in that way.”

What Motivates You to Get Up for Work Every Day?

“Probably my family. I love to get up, get things taken care of, and just see what’s going on with my family. I like staying busy so I not only have the resources but also the happiness I can bring my family. You’ve got to set a positive attitude for yourself so you can share that with everybody else.”

How Do You Wind Down After a Long Day?

“Usually by just talking to my wife. We usually sit down and discuss our day. Sometimes we may go for a drive or get ice cream or something like that. If it’s a really rough day, I’ll FaceTime my grandkids in Colorado, and they make everything better.”

If You Could Have an Unlimited Supply of One Thing, What Would It Be?

“Time. I’d want to spend all the time I could visiting everybody and visiting every place. There are so many places I want to see and so many places I want to take my family, and time is a factor, especially as you get older.”

What’s One Thing Most People Don’t Know About You?

“Recently, people found out that I’ve climbed Mount Fuji. I’ve traveled a lot all over the world and have gotten to do some really interesting things on different continents. I’ve gone on trail rides in Panama, glacier climbing in Alaska, golfing in Turkey, and Tuk-Tuk rides in Thailand. You know, I kind of seem like a boring guy, but I’ve had a pretty exciting life. But, the more I look back on it, and all the things I’ve done, spending time with my family is probably the most fun.”
