Q&A with Selena

What does a typical workday look like for you?

“First, it’s just coming in and checking on our clients and identifying any major issues that are coming from them or their account managers. From there, it’s doing the client work. I focus a lot on strategy build outs, content plans, and other technical aspects. I create the 30/60/90 day plans for my clients and then from there, all of the tasks get assigned out to the SEO team. So it really depends on what is on my plate for that specific day.”

How would you describe your team?

“I actually have the pleasure of working in the Charlotte Incubator, so I have the newest, smaller team of the SEO Department. It’s really cool because we get to work with each other in-person three days a week. It’s a really fun and collaborative environment. The SEO team as a whole is also as collaborative as we can be. I like the SEO team a lot because I feel like we’re all friendly, easygoing, and really want to help each other out.”

What motivates you to get up for work every day?

“I’m giving my dog the best life. That’s really why I go to work. Honestly, I like SEO because I have the ability to make an impact, help a client’s business grow, and help them out. At the end of the day, if I don’t feel like I’m making an impact or a difference in some way, I’ll never be motivated. That’s a big driver for me.”

How do you spend your free time?

“A lot of my hobbies revolve around food. I like cooking and trying to cook new foods. I also love eating new foods and going to restaurants. I have a rule that if someone asks me to try a new food I can’t say no. I also love playing with my dog and catching up with friends and family. I don’t live close to a lot of my friends and family so it’s a lot of calls and FaceTimes.”

If you could have an unlimited supply of one thing, what would it be?

“Oh gosh, probably cheese. Manchego is my favorite. Spain did that one so nicely. And also a good brie, of course.”

Where do you see yourself in five years?

“I want to continue to further my career. I’m super interested in SEO. It’s my fourth year doing it and I just want to keep diving into it and furthering my knowledge. I want to establish myself in my personal life as well. I just moved to Charlotte, but I hope to have a house for myself and my dog one day. Also hopefully, when Covid is gone, more traveling.”
